Since 1985, Halal Watch (formerly Halal Watch World, registered as Halal Watch Corp) has served halal-conscious consumers with integrity, transparency, and expertise. Recognized as an S-Corporation by the U.S. government, we have operated under the Halal Integrity Protection Standards (HIPS) since 2020. HIPS was developed by the United States Department of Halal Standards (USDHS), the only national body for halal standards in the country.

We helped develop and implement the first halal law in the United States (2000, Paterson, NJ), setting the foundation for national halal compliance and enforcement.
2. NYC Halal School Food Program
Since 2018, we’ve certified halal food for over 43 NYC public schools—providing students with culturally and religiously compliant meals. The program, shaped in part by our input, is now a national model.
3. Halal Food in Correctional Facilities
Since the early 1985s, we’ve managed halal food procurement for New York State correctional facilities, in collaboration with DOCCS—ensuring compliance with both religious and regulatory frameworks.
